Growing up from the US, most kids have grown up with cartoons such as Bugs Bunny and Popeye which portrays the good overcoming evil as well as satires that pokes fun of political figures in a none threatening way. For kids, majority of the time these cartoons have provided a positive impact rather then negativity or problems.
With the recent months in the rising popularity of Japanese animation especially the series of Naruto Episode, many parents are now worried that it may pose as a negative influence for children. Not only does it portray a lot of problems shown within society, it also contains a lot of adult humor as well. Is this something that we should allow our children to be influenced with? Will this type of influence give children bad ideas about the society or their engagements with one another?
Before we further examine this topic, we have to first understand the background of the anime Naruto. The story revolves around Uzumaki Naruto, a kid that has an inner demon of a nine-tailed fox who has once destroyed many villages until a powerful kage or a leader of a village who sealed his inner demon away through a powerful jitsu or a mystical technique of a ninja. The demon is then locked away and the story of Naruto begins with the life and adventure that Naruto has to face. All the while knowing that the demon inside of Naruto may come out someday both from his friends and foes.
From the outer appearance and storyline, Naruto doesn’t seem harmful for children nor is the general storyline provides any hint of negativity in anyway. However, with different Naruto Episode there has subtle hints of sexuality. For one, Naruto suddenly changes into a woman wearing a bikini from a man in ways through this Episode Naruto seduced his teacher. In another Naruto Episode, various characters posses characteristic of a woman although by nature they are being presented as man.
For parents, these are major signs of red flags that tells parents that they are not suitable for children due to inappropriate content. I however on the other hand dare to say that it’s actually okay for children to be exposed for these type of influences. Children nowadays are exposed with sex, violence, and crime whether it is from television or in the public area although some may minimize such influences. Whether you believe it or not, children pick things up rather quickly from adults. Instead of prohibiting negative influences, I believe parents should really educate kids at an early age the right and wrong and lead by example which is something that is lacking at large in causing a lot of division amongst the family and the society as a whole.
Even if we have successfully screened out the popular anime Naruto from our children in an effort to protect our children, is this eliminating the heart of the problem? I dare to say no and that we really need to examine ourselves in our communications with our kids in an educational way in light to talk about such events and things. Animations such as Naruto will only increase in this age of globalization and we need to learn how to cope with it rather then excusing ourselves from facing the true reality of this world. With proper education and support, I believe we can still enjoy anime the same way that we had enjoyed various cartoons in a positive manner with our children.

Ron Mark asked:
Kpop music or Korean popular music is music that comes from Korea, also famous in other parts of Asia such as Japan, China, Taiwan, Honk Kong and some South Eastern Asian countries. The rise of Kpop music is considered part of the rise of the Korean Wave (“Hallyu”). Korean music was challenged in 1992 when a Korean popular music group called Seo Taiji and Boys mixed traditional Korean music with American rap, rock and techno influences.
Their success, followed by other experimental groups (line panic) is what contributed to the present day’s popularity of Kpop. Korean popular music scene met afterwards the influence of dance-oriented acts such as the famous hip-hop duo Deux, followed by teen idol groups such as Baby V.O.X., Fin.K.L., g.o.d, H.O.T., Shinhwa, Sechs Kies, and S.E.S who were highly popular in the mid 90s.
Today, pop groups are still fashionable, despite the current emergence of R&B and hip-hop in Korean music. MC MONG, 1TYM, Rain, Big Bang and Epik High are some of the bands that have made hip-hop popular, together with other underground artists such as Drunken Tiger, Tasha and Dynamic Duo. Rock music has also gained recognition lately, represented by artists such as Yoon Do-Hyun Band and Seo Taiji. For techno/dance Korean music lovers, Lee Jung Hyun and Kim Hyun Jung, two of the veteran artists in the industry, are the favorites. Kpop music has become famous worldwide, thanks to artists such as BoA, who has become Korea’s highest-selling international artist.
Apart from BoA, other artists as well have contributed to the popularity of Korean music outside their country’s borders. Rain and Se7en are some of the artists who sold their albums in other countries from eastern Asia. However, the greatest challenge for Korean artists (in fact, for all Asian artists) is to enter the profitable English-language music market.
As English has become an international language, the only way for a singer to achieve international recognition is to sing in English, so that everyone should be able to understand the lyrics. Korean singers are aware of that and a few of them (Rain, Se7en, Skull, a reggae artist and Min form JYP Entertainment) are planning to make a debut on the USA music market soon. Once they have managed to conquer the American listeners, the door to worldwide fame will stay open for them.
R&B, hip-hop and dance are the popular music styles today in Kpop music, which one can compare, from this point of view, with English pop music. Boy bands, girl groups, pop singers and R&B stars, currently dominate the Korean music scene. Ballads are also very popular. Some people argue that more diversity is necessary in Kpop music, but perhaps the rock industry will also develop in the future and everyone will be satisfied. The future looks bright for Korean singers and it is probably just a matter of time until they will conquer the US charts and the rest of the world. Kpop is gaining more and more fans every day and Korean artists are gaining popularity in US and Europe.

Music Teacher asked:
Music teachers should learn how to deal with students of all ages; otherwise, they might not be as effective as they could be. Hence, they must give time to read some music teachers resources and tips that are readily available online.
Although there are many who specialize in teaching younger students, some still prefer to handle adult students for some reasons.
Generally speaking, adult students have vast experiences and knowledge about a variety of things and issues. These advantages provide a private music studio, a new horizon and window to the world outside. Also, these bring a more pleasurable atmosphere, not only to the class but to the music teachers as well. Exchanging insights and experiences related to the lessons that are certainly important to learning music can be a very good music teaching strategy.
Adult students may vary from one another. Some may just be beginners, while others may only want to increase their knowledge on their preferred instrument. On the other hand, there are some who may already have expertise in playing other musical instruments.
Just like young students, adults can be fast learners. However, there are some of them who may need much time and effort before they can adopt and understand. Thus, most music teaching resources and tips advise that teachers must also learn how to listen to their adult students’ inquiries and suggestions. Further, music teachers must learn how to assess the skills of each of their students and devise the suitable lesson plans for them.
Indeed, adults usually have stronger motivation to learn. They are likewise more inclined to follow the outlined practice schedule. However, they are more articulate and vocal with their concerns, so music teachers should better prepare prompt response.
Just a piece of advice: do not try to compare their skills and learning capacity with other students because most adults have greater tendency to be anxious. Instead, try to cite their previous accomplishments and learn how to recognize, appreciate and acknowledge their good efforts. This technique can boost their eagerness to learn and somehow make them aware that you commend their achievements.
In addition, music teachers should give their students an active participation in choosing what type of music they prefer to learn and use in practicing. Practice pieces must be enjoyable and pleasing to their adult students. Or else, they may have lesser motivation to learn and rehearse.
Lessons, resources and tips in teaching music to children and adult students are basically similar. They only differ in the stages of learning: children are more into the developmental stage while adults are more into the integral aspect of learning.

James Sherard asked:
The Japanese are a practical people. In the past most young adults lived with their parents until they married, and it was not unusual to find three generations living under one roof, separated only by paper thin walls or shoji screens. Needless to say, finding a suitable place to pursue the most private of acts was somewhat difficult to achieve. Emerging from necessity, “Love Hotels” were introduced in the late 1950’s, offering couples who desired time alone an affordable room to rent by the hour. While they might be perceived as bawdy or odd to a foreign visitor, Love Hotels are considered futsuu (normal) in Japan, a fact of life for high school students on up to middle aged lovers and beyond. The Japanese attitude toward *** is often more relaxed and cosmopolitan than that of the west, and these establishments are an accepted segment of a society where space and privacy are at a premium.
Originally modeled after traditional Japanese inns called Ryokan, the hotels in the early 60’s gradually began catering to a more modern, western concept of love and romance, featuring ceiling mirrors and rotating beds with European styled furnishings adorning each room. Eventually these were replaced with high tech amenities, contemporary rooms now offering fully automated services. The television provides a variety of films or karaoke music, while radio and lights are effortlessly controlled from the headboard of the bed. Alcohol, snacks, and sex-toys can be ordered from room service and paid for with a credit card. For those who enjoy multitasking, some hotels even offer “sun beds” that provide a tan while you indulge in other sensual delights. Bordering highways, nightspots, and sometimes even found in suburbia, bright neon lights flashing names like “Hotel Charm”, and “Love Oasis” make these hotels easy to spot for couples with or without a car. For married couples wishing to add variety to their *** life, or “salarymen” and their “office ladies” in search of a clandestine haven after an evening spent drinking, these convenient love nests offer a readily available solution.
Love Hotels are models of discretion, and ensuring that a customer can fully relax while there is a top priority. Clients entering the premise never see the staff or other customers, and anonymity is always assured. Those arriving by car enter underground parking lots hidden from view, and staff often cover license plates to deter any curious onlookers. Upon entering the reception area the customer is greeted by a lit panel displaying photographs of available rooms. Choosing a room is as simple as pressing a button, the extinguished light of the panel confirming the room selected is now occupied. Payment is made discreetly to a staff member who remains hidden behind a partition, and verbal exchange between patron and staff is usually unnecessary.
Depending on the location and exclusivity of the hotel, the amount paid for time spent varies. Room rates are displayed on a sign in front of the hotel, and can range from (2,500-6,000) yen for a “rest” (usually two hours) to as much as 12,000 yen for an overnight stay. Though often cheaper than business hotels or other traditional accommodation, Love Hotels do not provide the same kind of services in regard to mobility. Once you have left the hotel you unfortunately have to pay again to reenter.
